Rovereto, from 3 to 12 May 2007

Cesarini Sforza Spumanti sponsors the third edition of the “Futuro Presente” (Present Future) Festival, on the agenda at the Rovereto MART from 3 to 12 May 2007, with the fascinating title “Effetto Bertolucci” (Bertolucci Effect). Organised by the Department of Culture of the Autonomous Province of Trento and by the Municipality of Rovereto, with the participation of the Incontri Internazionali di Rovereto, of the MART – Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Trento and Rovereto, of the New Cine-forum of Rovereto and of Dissonanze Armoniche, "Futuro Presente" is a Festival of Contemporary Arts based, each year, on the works of one great Maestro whose research, although revolving around the axis of a single, well-defined artistic discipline, is open to relations with various forms of expression.

After the first two editions dedicated to the choreographer Merce Cunningham and to the composer Philip Glass, this year the spotlights are therefore aimed at one of the greatest directors of our time, an authentic poet in visual arts, capable, with images, of communicating a wide range of emotions, of telling stories which, starting from reality, fathom the depths of the human soul. In Rovereto, the works of Bernardo Bertolucci will therefore be subject to attention from various points of view, thus offering the spectator multiple opportunities for entertainment, elaboration and contemplation. Other than the most extensive cinematographic retrospective ever created to date on Bertolucci, the packed programme of the Festival includes concerts by musicians whose names are irreversibly linked with his films (Ryuichi Sakamoto, Gato Barbieri), and meetings in which actors, critics and academics in the fields of cinema will partake (including Eva Green, Louis Garrel, Marcello Garofalo, Morando Morandini, Lucilla Albano, Matthew Spender), other than the director himself. Furthermore, an exhibition of iconographic material will be set up, with all the original posters from the films directed by the great cinematographer from Emilia-Romagna.

With their presence at “Effetto Bertolucci”, Cesarini Sforza Spumanti wishes to celebrate one of the greatest living figures not only in Italian cinema, but even in international cinema, faithful to his claim, which irreversibly unites quality, image and culture.
